Free online course on Electric Vehicles
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) has organized a free online course on electric vehicles and renewable energy. The course has been approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and is open to all students and professionals. Last year, IIT Delhi launched a Master’s degree in Automotive Tech and Electric Vehicles.
More than 500 courses taught by the faculties of IITs and IISC are offered free of charge to learners across the country through NPTEL. The free online courses are offered within the framework of the National Programme for Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a joint initiative of the institutes in which we have identified priorities for the courses offered. Free courses on electrical vehicles, renewable energy, design, the Internet of Things (IoT), economics, and sustainable development are offered for students and professionals, but students need certification or pay 1,000 rupees to take the exam, which lasts 12 weeks and is offered on the Swayam platform.
NPTEL offers more than 500 free online courses for learners across the country. The National Programme for Technology Enhanced Learning ( NPEL ) initiative of IITs and the IISCISC launched a new course on electric vehicles, renewable energy design, IoT, economics, and sustainable development for the July 2021 semester on the Swayam platform. NPTEL offers over 500 free online courses offered by the Faculty of IIT-IISC Bangalore.
Provision of e-learning and learning materials in the form of free online courses totally free of charge. It offers courses and video courses in engineering, natural sciences, management, humanities, and social sciences, coordinator type, content list of the institute, and NPTEL online courses in various scientific and technical fields. Exams and certificates are paid as nominal fees to passed NPTel exam students and cooperative education programs sponsored by the Indian government for all types of learners.
Students can watch the videos, submit weekly or monthly assignments and register for the optional final exam. The online application form can be completed and the examination fee paid. No nominal fee is charged for participation in the optional, supervised final examination under the personal supervision and for obtaining the certificate.
NPTEL launched the concept of domain certification to streamline the efforts of learners and help them in gaining expertise in this area. While 51 domains are available in 12 disciplines, only 85% of learners have completed domain certification under NPTel. Vignesh Muthuvijayan, N PTEL coordinator at IIT Madras, said that students and faculty at all institutions should take NPTL free online courses to improve their knowledge and skills.
NPTEL has so far received more than 1.4 million registrations in the state from IIT Madras alone. NPTEL’s videos have been viewed over 1 billion times on its YouTube channel and have more than 31 million subscribers.
IITs and IISC offer free online courses or pay a fee to channels for learning and sharing courses through AICTE and FDP (January-Avril) and pay a small fee for exams and certificates for over 600 courses. The next videos will begin and end, welcoming channels to learn and share advanced learning on NPTEL.
Swayams was launched in August last year and aims to provide an integrated platform and portal for free online courses in Lucknow, Calcutta, Guwahati, Mumbai, Thane, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram. Infosys, India’s largest IT company, recently announced plans to hire 35,000 graduates in the current fiscal year.

India’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) have launched a course on electric vehicles to train young people in the repair, installation, and assembly of electric vehicles. The IITs were established by the government to train the citizens in basic technical skills that can be used by industry to meet the need for a skilled workforce.
More than 100 new generation entrepreneurs at 50 locations across India have used Tri3DS technology. According to a report by Businessline, 5-10 IITs will offer free online courses on electric vehicles over the next four months to train young people in the repair, installation, and assembly of electric vehicles.
Tri3DS co-founder and IIT Madras alumnus Krishna Sumanth Alwala say the arduous task of arranging a one-day photoshoot for a model or having to transform into a sari can now be avoided. Tri3DS has developed software to replace traditional models with photoshoots, which is handy for small boutiques, designers, and weavers who can’t afford it. The images generated by the software are acceptable on most popular e-commerce websites.
The department will organize an expert lecture on computer vision by G Suresh, a Senior Research Fellow at IIST, for graduating students on 4-11, 2016. A one-day workshop on Node JS (server-side programming) will be organized by the Department of Third Year Students on November 10 and 11, 2016 at the Infosys Development Centre. On 20 August 2016, a one-day workshop on interactive web design by Extreme Media experts will take place, organized by the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE) and the IIT Department Association.
The workshop was coordinated by ACM Chapter Coordinator Ms. Shini Renjith and Asst. Dr. Jisha John and FDP Python 3.3.4 were organized by VIT University Chennai on 5 May 2020 and by IIT Bombay on 9 May 2020. The course focused on advanced topics in machine learning and deep learning and was aimed at BTech students.
