Why do we never calculate the ROI (Return on Investment) on petrol two-wheeler?
We can only calculate the ROI if we have a reference point for our expenditure. Right?
Why do we want to check for the ROI of electric two-wheelers?
Because we have an understanding of what we are spending on Petrol, we have some data to compare. Right?
What is the optimum ROI Period?
Any spent from us today if get returned to us as saving within 3 years against the previous expenditure is “very good” return. Between 3 and 4 years, it is a “good” return. Beyond 4 years, the spent should only be made if no other option is available. Right?
What is the reason stopping you to buy an E2W?
The main reason for this is our mindset. Our brain works with a fear factor presuming the “worst-case scenario”. But we suggest you sit with a pen and paper, write down your fears and related incidents. Not getting? Hmm this itself is a BLOG Subject. Where will this petrol be on the price graph, 5 years down the line?
Nobody knows, but looking into the past, we can predict the future. As per google search, petrol was INR 60/- per Litre in 2015, it is now 110, and since the rise is exponential kind of, it will go somewhere around INR 250-INR 300/- per Litre by 2025.
Do you think Li-Ion Battery prices are high if you go for a replacement?
Analyze the conditions with respect to timeline, see the graph above (Image courtesy IEEE Spectrum). Li-Ion batteries use to cost $8000 in the year 1991, $3000 in the year 2000, $800 in the year 2010 and are floating around $200 only, today in 2021.
So the probability says, it will again go down to at least one-third to half of the current prevailing rates by the year 2025-30. And come on, your E2W company is giving you the warranty of battery till that time, so just be cool and start using E2W now for a great experience.
